Big Tree Contest - Lloyd Morgan
Award for the largest softwood and largest hardwood measured. It applies to any native live species of Nova Scotia. Measurements are taken to the nearest meter or foot for height and nearest centimeter or inch for diameter. Trees entered must be measured by a NSFTA member. Certification/CFT Committee - Glenn Wallace, Norman Doucet, Norm MacDougall, Mike MacDonald, Rob Paddock
In 1998, the NSFTA voted in changes to allow for certification of its members and a Certification Committee and board were formed.The Certification Board developed a list of prescribed Acts and Regulations of Nova Scotia which were used to develop an exam for the Certification Program. Certification has been a strong method of gaining recognition outside of the NSFTA. More Info...

Technician of the Year - Glen Sampson
This award was intitiated by the executive in 1991 and the first award was presented in 1992. The award is given to recognize the contributions of our members to the their profession and to the goals of the NSFTA.

Web Site Committee - Derek Gilby
This committee, formed at the 2000 AGM of the NSFTA, designs, approves, and updates information for this web site. The purpose is to attract new members, inform the public of upcoming events and to exchange information on what the NSFTA is all about.
